Welcome to the Optometric Practice of Dr. Martha Maietta, O.D.
Dr. Maietta was born and raised in New Britain, CT. She attended Boston College and received her doctorate from the New England College of Optometry, returning to New Britain to practice and raise her three daughters.
She is the third generation Optometrist in her family. Her grandfather, Dr. Frank Goodwin, started the family practice on Main Street in New Britain in 1914. Her father, Dr. John Goodwin, joined him in 1955 and Dr. Maietta joined the practice in 1984.
As a family owned and operated business, we strive to remain focused and we are committed to being a small and family friendly practice. Quality eye care and honest patient education is our priority.
Eye Examinations: Regular eye examinations are not only the answer to vision problems; they can also identify underlying health issues such as high blood pressure. Routine eye exams are an important part of overall healthcare. Dr. Maietta takes a personal and thorough approach to eye exams and works to improve the wellness of each and every patient.

Contact Lenses: We art your one-stop-shop for all your contact lens needs. You may order from us online and have them delivered directly to your home or to our office for pickup. We carry all current contact lens brands at competitive prices. We do contact lens fittings.
Frames: We offer frames at several different prices to ensure quality eye-wear for every patient, no matter your budget. We carry a large variety of designer frames, including Gucci, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Nine West, and Sophia Loren, as well as Boss, Carrera, Fossil, and Randy Jackson. In addition to our high-end frames, we also have reasonably priced frame and lens packages. A variety of sun wear options are also available including sunglasses, frames with magnetic sun clips, and polarized clip-ons. All frames are warranted for one year.
Convenient Hours: We understand that it can be difficult to schedule annual appointments around busy schedules, which is why we offer hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Please follow the link to our "Hours and Directions" page for more details.
Additional Services: Dr. Maietta offers free adjustments and re-checks on any glasses purchased from our office. In addition to routine eye exams, Dr. Maietta should be the first stop for patients with eye pain, visual floaters or flashing lights, red or irritated eyes due to allergies, conjunctivitis or any other discomforting eye issues.
